• Approximate or precise device location, if you grant location permission, so the app can show nearby amenities and center the map near you.
• Map view and amenity request information sent to the app backend, such as amenity types, public transport stop requests, walking estimate requests, and map area queries.
• Basic technical information that may be automatically processed by hosting, network, and infrastructure providers when the app communicates with backend or map services, such as IP address, request time, device/browser user agent, and error logs.
• Local app preferences and cached amenity data stored on your device to improve app behavior and performance.

How We Use Information

We use information only to provide and maintain the app, including to:

• Show amenities and public transport information relevant to your location or map area.
• Calculate walking distance estimates between your location and selected amenities.
• Load map tiles, map styles, and map attribution.
• Cache data on your device so the app can load faster and remain useful between sessions.
• Monitor service reliability, diagnose errors, and protect the backend from abuse.

Location Data

Location access is optional. If you deny location permission, the app can still be used with a default map area. When location permission is granted, your location is used to show nearby places, center the map, and request walking estimates. The app does not create a user account or location history.

Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell personal information. The app relies on third-party services that may process technical request information as needed to provide their services:

• MapTiler, for map tiles, map styles, and map attribution resources.
• Expo services, for app updates and mobile app infrastructure.
• Backend hosting and infrastructure providers, for serving app data and logs.
• Public open-data providers used to source amenity and public transport information.

Data Retention

Cached app data and preferences may remain on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the app. Backend and infrastructure logs, if collected, are kept only as long as reasonably needed for operations, security, debugging, and legal compliance.

Children and Families

Vilnius Essentials is a general utility app that can be used by people of all ages. The app does not require an account and does not ask children to provide personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. You can also clear local app data or uninstall the app to remove cached data stored on your device.
